Toxic Dips

The UK’s rivers are dangerously polluted, posing serious health risks to swimmers. To highlight this crisis, Toxic Dips recreated the chemical composition of three highly contaminated rivers—Severn, Tamar, and Roding—into bath bombs. Using Environmental Agency data, the team matched each river’s unique pollution profile, including sewage, pesticides, and microplastics. The campaign featured a website, social media, and eBay listings pricing the bath bombs at £300,000—just 0.001% of the UK’s river cleanup costs. With a 78% increase in visits to The Rivers Trust and media coverage reaching parliament, the initiative helped raise awareness and drive action on water pollution.
